Here's a little background on Geoff:
A native southern Californian, started playing golf at the age of thirteen. Geoff attended St. Francis High School , in La Canada , California . He went on to attend the University of San Diego . He studied Business and was a member of the men's golf team. While a USD Team Member, he earned Most Improved Golfer award, Gentleman Golfer award and MVP. In 1989, Geoff earned the rank of 7th in the West Coast Athletic Conference. Upon graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Geoff joined the ranks of professional golf.
In 1989, he began his golfing career as a touring golf professional. He participated in golf events on the Nike Tour, The Canadian PGA Tour, The Mexican PGA Tour and the PGA Tour of America . He played as far north as Vancouver , B.C. and as far south as Ixtapa , Mexico . After competing for six years on many professional tours, made a career decision to take his expertise as a professional golfer and teach the game.
Geoff began teaching in 1995 at Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort, an Arnold Palmer Golf Course, in Palm Springs , California . He received his initial instructional training from Brad Brewer, PGA Director of the Arnold Palmer Golf Academy. He earned full PGA membership in July 1999.
In 2000, he became the Director of Instruction for Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort. Geoff successfully established the Player Development Program - a comprehensive program designed to teach all ages and abilities. After achieving successes in instruction, Geoff rededicated himself to competition.
Geoff continued to compete at the highest levels. In 1998, he earned the distinction of player of the year for the Desert PGA Chapter. In 2003, Geoff won the Southern California PGA Section Championship. In addition, he competed in the 2004 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, The Buick Open of San Diego and Nissan Open, in Los Angeles . In 2006, Geoff competed as full-time member of The AG Spanos Golf Tour and qualified for the National PGA Club Professional Championship held in Verona New York at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino. In February 2007, Geoff competed in the Northern Trust Open – formerly the Nissan Open. In 2010, he competed in the PGA National Championship held at French Lick Resort, in French Lick, Indiana .
In addition to being a competitor and instructor, Geoff has been a featured columnist for Golf News Magazine, and the television host of Inside Valley Golf, a golf lifestyles segment airing in the Sunday Night Newscast for KMIR 6 News. He has also co-owned at TV production company which produced the local TV show, "Spotlight on the Desert".
